One of the reasons we began this adventure at Bella Vita Farm is to combine our passion for healthy food with improving your personal health. Since Amy and Angelo are both medical professionals we have seen the impact that unhealthy choices have on your personal health. While most people realize the importance of eating healthy, exercising and a good night’s sleep much of our modern society makes it hard to live that life. We have made bad food cheap (your 99c burger at the local fast food place and supersized soda). It is faster (and in some cases cheaper) to throw something in the microwave for dinner than to make a home cooked meal with fresh ingredients.
The end result of those daily choices are increased heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases. It is estimated that 60-80% of all current disease is preventable. By making small incremental changes to your life you can dramatically impact your health and wellness over time. The challenge is how and where to start.
As part of a new series at the farm we are going to show you how you can take those first steps. In October we are going to start regular conversations on health and wellness. The first conversation, led by our very own Dr Angelo Falcone, will be centered around the building blocks of good health; nutrition, physical activity, mental resiliency and sleep. Each person who attends will take away 3 simple steps which they can start the next day to improve their health.
For those of you who have not had an opportunity to try some of our delicious Bella Vita greens grown in our own aquaponics system we have a special treat. For everyone who attends the discussion we will be providing a $10 coupon to purchase some of our wonderful products. If you want to take some home that day then all the better and the coupon is good whenever you would like to try our products or visit the farm for a little axe throwing.
How do I register for the event?
Please sign up here as we are limiting the event to the first 30 people. The EVENT will be held outside on our grounds to maintain safety. We look forward to seeing you on October 24th from noon-2pm.
